How to choose a Christmas gift by age
The 30-second rule: start from the age on the box or product page, then match the child’s interest. We only show an age chip where the product page states an age. If there is no chip, check the pack before you buy.
Babies and toddlers (0–3)
Soft starts for babies and toddlers: chunky wood, music and first board books.
Favour sensory play, cause-and-effect, chunky wooden pieces, bath toys and board books. Nothing with small parts under three. On this page: Xylo Dino (18 months+), Happy Shower - Water Friends (6 months+), Octo Park - Water Friends (check pack — page does not state an age), Brio Magnetic Blocks (Ages 1+), Patterned Wooden Blocks (12 months+), Peekaboo Gnome Homes (18 months+), plus first libraries and The Very Hungry Caterpillar’s Christmas touch-and-feel. More for this age: toys for babies and toys for 1–2 year olds.
Preschool to early primary (4–7)
Preschool and early primary: Numberblocks, building, Bluey Christmas and first logic.
Early maths (Numberblocks), building tiles, pretend play and first logic games land well here. Lead pick from our ads: Glow: Solar System. Also Race to Pattern Palace (Ages 3–5), MathLink Cubes 11–20 (Ages 4+), Brio Dinosaur Erupting Volcano (Ages 3+), Crew Pack (Ages 6+ — follow the product page), and My Busy Books: BBC Bluey Christmas (Ages 3+) for a festive story-and-figure set. More: toys for 3–5 and toys for 6–8.
8+ and STEM
Models, logic games, science kits and reference books they can dig into alone.
Models, logic puzzles, science kits and reference books they can open on their own. Saturn V rocket model, Kanoodle Gravity (Ages 7+), Ignite STEM Space book-and-kit, constellation globe, Perfume Creator (Ages 8+), Britannica encyclopedia and Science Comics: Computers. Fans of space can also browse Astronomy. More building and kits: STEM and toys for 9–12.
Under HK$300
Little gifts, big curiosity — thoughtful picks under HK$300. This strip uses products already in the age bands above.
See also gifts under HK$200.
Books or toys? Give both
A book plus a matching toy often feels more thoughtful than either alone — for example the Ignite STEM Space book with its model kit, or a Bluey Christmas busy book beside building play. This page mixes English Christmas story titles (Bluey Christmas, Very Hungry Caterpillar’s Christmas) with Numberblocks, Brio and STEM kits. Product cards show English titles; live availability sits on each card.
Chinese and bilingual gifts
This curated Christmas grid focuses on English Christmas story titles and learning toys. There is no Simplified Chinese edition and no Sun Ya title among the picks. For Traditional Chinese children’s books elsewhere on the store, browse Our Stores collections and ask in shop — ranges vary. We do not list Simplified editions on Wondersaurus.
